The Low Carbon Hub

Delegates at Oxford City Town Hall on 1st December 2011 for the Launch of Oxfordshire's Low Carbon Hub

http://www.lowcarbonhub.org/

The Low Carbon Hub is being developed by a group of partner organisations (including the City Council, County Council, West Oxford Community Renewables, CAG Oxfordshire, ClimateXchange and Low Carbon West Oxford) to support environmental change in communities across Oxfordshire. Our aim is to help deliver the City and County goals on cutting carbon emissions by providing a “hub” where communities can find a route to all they need to take action.

The Hub will not aim to be comprehensive but will be a trusted and credible source of essential information, strategic advice and support, both on and off-line. The resources, training and services will be generated by Hub "experts" with first-hand experience in their field to help communities cut through the information overload and build the confidence to act.

We hope communities across Oxfordshire will use the Hub to run community action groups and develop low carbon projects. We would like to promote your community group on the Low Carbon Hub website to demonstrate the level of action in the city and county and so that potential members of the Hub can contact you and get involved with your projects.

Visit the Low Carbon Hub website at http://www.lowcarbonhub.org/ or contact Sustainable Woodstock for more details.

Are you wondering what to do with all those old printer ink cartridges?  Here's a charity that will collect them for recycling and the proceeds will go to Helen and Douglas House in Oxford.
There is a receptacle in the foyer of Woodstock Town Hall where you can deposit ink and toner cartridges and old mobile phones (remove the SIM card first for security)

We acknowledge with thanks, the support and guidance of Oxfordshire's Community Action Groups (CAG) at http://www.cagoxfordshire.org.uk/

The CAG project in Oxfordshire began in Sept 2001 as a partnership project between The Recycling Consortium (now Resource Futures) in Bristol and Oxfordshire County Council. The project is supported by all District Councils in Oxfordshire and was initially funded by Viridor Waste management through Trust for Oxfordshire's Environment (TOE) and Oxfordshire County Council.  Since the ToE funding finished the project has been fully funded by Oxfordshire County Council.
The CAG project officers provide support and funding for community groups holding events and initiatives that help to reduce the amount of resources wasted in Oxfordshire.
